Civil Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering, it focuses on the design and construction on a range of infrastructures, from buildings and roads to bridges and canals. Civil Engineers shape the world around us, when planning future infrastructures Civil Engineers may look to existing structures for inspiration and there is plenty of inspiration in Huddersfield. Our town has listed buildings and monuments that civil engineers will have contributed to, from grand Victorian buildings built of local sandstone to gems of modern design on our own University campus.
Whilst we have a rich heritage of buildings on our doorstep, we have the ambition at using technology in better ways to create more sustainable buildings and infrastructures. Our Civil Engineering degree is designed to create graduates who can communicate effectively, manage projects and work in professional teams. Studying Civil Engineering could boost your career opportunities and open doors to careers with substantial earning potential, enabling you to shape the life you desire in the future.
