Muslims in Britain 

Are you interested in understanding cultural diversity and difference, or exploring a career in working with diverse communities? Then you may be interested in this workshop that will explore the history of Muslims in Britain and also examine a number of interesting and challenging questions including: integration, gender, jihad and cultural difference. Come along and find out what it means to be a Muslim in Britain today, and about the role of Islam and religion in British society.

The reality of being a teacher 

Compare your perceptions with reality as you explore what it's really like to be a teacher. You'll find out what life is like teaching at primary and secondary level, whilst also taking a look at teaching people beyond the age of 16. Discuss the challenges and rewards of teaching, and the kind of person that makes a good teacher.

Education Taster Days (including Primary Education)

Our Education Taster Days provide an excellent opportunity for students interested in studying courses related to working with children and young people. You'll find out what it's like to study Education at degree level and what career options could be available to you. If you're interested in becoming a primary school teacher, we'll give you an insight into what it's like to train to teach, and provide some handy tips on applying for a Primary Education teacher training course. 

We'll give you the chance to find out more about the courses we offer, including Childhood Studies, Early Childhood Education and Care, Education, Primary Education, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Inclusion, and Youth and Community Work.
