Welcome to the University of Huddersfield

Internationally recognised
We're rated Five Stars with QS (2023). This international benchmarking system renders Five Star universities as world-class in areas such as Teaching, Employability, Facilities, Innovation, Internationalisation and Inclusiveness. We were also recognised at subject level in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject. Performing Arts achieved a ranking of 37th in the world, and Petroleum Engineering was ranked inside the top 100 globally. We had eight subjects ranked inside the top 300 in the world, and more ranked subjects – 14 – than ever before.

We ensure our students don’t just learn it, they do it. Placements and real-world experiences are a key part of our courses at Huddersfield. We support students into placements across the UK and around the globe, in a range of industries which have included companies from KPMG to HSBC, Panasonic to Vivienne Westwood. We’re proud to be in the Top 20 in the UK for placement years in industry (HESA Student Record 2022/23).
