Student Consultancy Projects

We recruit for organisations to take part all year round.

• From March onwards the project briefs are finalised and we scope out the needs analysis.
• At the end of June, the students have a 'Launch Day' where they find out which organisation they are paired with. Then, the students work on their project across 2.5 months.
• In September, a business report including the recommendations is sent to your organisation and we invite you into Huddersfield Business School for the students' presentation on their findings.

A student consultancy project provides your organisation with the opportunity to explore aspects of your business which you may not have the expertise, resource, or time to undertake. The valuable insights and recommendations gained can be used for future planning and implementation. The students also benefit from real-life consultancy experience, and being able to apply the theory they've learnt in the classroom to the world of work.

We’re actively seeking projects for a wide range of MSc students studying Data Analytics, Marketing, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, Logistics and more. Previous projects in the past have covered:

• Sustainability
• Marketing
• Branding
• International markets
• Competitor and industry analysis
• Cost benefit analysis
• Diversification
• HR recommendations in staff development & engagement initiatives and staff training including health & wellbeing and equality, diversity, and inclusion

The initial meeting is arranged by the students and a site visit is usually involved. We recommend you have regular contact with the students throughout the project duration, to answer questions and ensure they are on track.

At the end of the project, you'll receive a report with the students' findings and be invited for their final presentation to offer your comments and feedback.
