Welcome to the University of Huddersfield. We would like to thank you for choosing to study one of our postgraduate social sciences courses. We are looking forward to working with you during your time here to help you get the most out of your university experience and studies.

This fascinating subject area is ideal for those with an enquiring mind who are keen to understand people and the societies that shape them. It covers many facets of human behaviour, helping us form opinions, understand the human psyche and make a difference to the world around us. You’ll be taught by expert staff committed to enabling you to reach your full potential and develop knowledge and skills in your chosen subject area.

Your induction to your course has been planned as part of your timetable and will give you the opportunity to meet everyone on your course, including staff and students.  It is also your chance to get to know your way around campus and the key rooms that you will be using throughout your time at university. You will also get some more detailed information on what to expect from your course.

Chris Möller

Graduated Social Research and Evaluation MSc in 2015

“The course offered excellent training in research methods and allowed me to follow my own interests in discourse analysis and qualitative research while living in Germany. The evening webinars were particularly helpful and the discussions with other students really brought the module materials to life. I was very impressed with the personal support by tutors and help was only ever a few clicks away. Overall, the course was excellent preparation for doctoral research and I have now continued my studies with a PhD at Huddersfield.“
