English and Creative Writing at Huddersfield is home to a friendly team of accredited teachers, leading academic researchers and award-winning writers. Our courses span all of the main genres and periods of literature from the Middle Ages to the present, from the canonical to the experimental, with plenty of opportunities to specialise. In the 2015 Research Excellence Framework (REF) survey, the English and Creative Writing Staff at Huddersfield was ranked 4th in the UK for its “world-leading” and “internationally excellent” research.
