Welcome to English Language, Linguistics and Modern Languages. We are a friendly department with an excellent reputation for research and teaching in linguistics, English language and modern foreign languages, and we are particularly well known for the applied focus of our work, and the application of linguistic knowledge in solving real-world problems. During your time with us, we’ll help you sharpen and develop your skills as a linguist, focusing on the practical applications of linguistics and offering options to suit your interests.
