Drama's home is the Sir Patrick Stewart Building, a vast converted Victorian church with stunning features to match the creative and inspiring atmosphere. The two performance spaces are architecturally spectacular, while most of the writing, seminar and rehearsal rooms are graced with beautiful stained glass windows, high ceilings and curious gargoyles, providing a stimulating working environmennt.

Our bespoke converted space also houses three adaptable studios with sprung floors, the latest multimedia projection equipment, 3D design equipment and computerised lighting and sound equipment. Our work in this inspirational setting is supported by a team of dedicated technical staff.

Studio One Equipped with a full complement of modern lighting and sound equipment, Studio One is a large state-of-the-art performance studio. Licensed for public performances, Studio One hosts many varied performances throughout the year, from theatre and puppetry to music and dance.
Studio Two Studio Two is also a converted church hall licensed for public performances.  Studio Two is a versatile studio space complete with sprung wooden floor, LED theatre lighting, vaulted ceiling and stained-glass window, accompanied by a full range of stage technology as found in the most modern of venues.
Studio Three Studio Three is a smaller rehearsal studio, also equipped as a technical learning space with a lighting grid for students to take advantage of. Whether rehearsing a movement piece or learning how to use a moving head light, this is the right place to do so.
Rehearsal Rooms 1 and 2 Recently converted to professional standard rehearsal spaces, each rehearsal room has customisable lighting options and full black surge surrounds – creating a private and focussed practice space.  Alternatively, each room can be opened up to reveal period feature stained-glass windows and decorative masonry.
Visualisation Suite This suite houses our student PCs and WYSIWYG lighting design lab, video and sound editing facilities including Adobe Premiere Pro.
Writing Room This room serves as a creative writing space, a seminar room and a production meeting room.
Theatre Workshop The department houses a workshop space which can be used not only for prop and set building, but also for students to experiment with design ideas, methods and philosophies.
Theatre Store Our small theatre store houses a wide range costume, many useful theatre props and tools.
Stage Equipment Store This large store holds all of the department's available stage technology, such as lighting fixtures, moving heads, media servers, projectors and smoke machines. Maintaining a balance of both new and traditional technology ensures students are equipped with the knowledge to succeed in the workplace.
