A warm welcome to Postgraduate Study here at Huddersfield Business School. We are a friendly, student-centred and supportive team of academics who enjoy meeting and working with what is a diverse cohort of students. I hope that you find your course challenging and rewarding and that your time with us is memorable and enjoyable. You might be surprised at how quickly the academic year passes, the pace of learning involved and the personal development that you will experience. There will be a lot for you to do and experience here at Huddersfield.

Induction

The time, date and location of your Welcome Meeting can be found in the MyHud portal. At your Welcome Meeting, you’ll receive your Welcome schedule, including your enrolment. During this time, you can expect to:

· Be introduced to your academic team

· Have an opportunity to meet other students on your course

· You’ll receive information on course content and any option modules available

· An introduction to all of the student services on offer here at Huddersfield

· For Researchers, an opportunity to meet with your supervisory teams

Facilities

Here at Huddersfield Business School, we have invested in state of the art facilities to replicate those used in industry. Our Trading Room equipped with professional software provides market data and financial analysis to give students a feel for how decisions are made in industry. Our mock law courtroom also provides students with exposure to a courtroom experience so that you feel right at home when you progress into the industry.

For those doing Postgraduate Research programmes, you will have access to a research space with access to computers and other researchers to help support your learning.

Distance Learning (online) students

We can’t wait to welcome you to our online community of students from across the world who’ve chosen Huddersfield to help them achieve their career goals. You’ll be taught and supported by award-winning academics and have access to all our excellent support services from career advice to wellbeing support.

You’ll receive an email that invites you to your online induction. Similarly to the on-campus students, in your induction, you’ll be introduced to your academic team, meet students on your course, receive information about course content, and learn more about our support services at the University.
