What do I need to bring?
Your invitation to the interview will detail what you need to bring, but they may include:
• A copy of and the original certificate for your awards
• DBS self declaration form
• Evidence you’ve registered for or that you have passed your professional skills test
• An object and pricture book for your interview task.
What will happen on the day?
The interview will include:
- A brief introduction to the course
- An interview with a course tutor
- Various written tasks
You will need to bring with you an object that you would use in a classroom with five to seven year olds to inspire a teaching session. You'll be expected to talk through how you would use this object and why you chose it.
You will need to bring a picture book with a view to reading and discussing how you would use it with children. You may want to bring a plan of your session or props to help.
Additional information
If you are offered a place and officially accepted it, you’ll need to return to the University to complete the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application form. Government guidelines recommend that we have to meet you to confirm your identity.
The DBS application form has to be completed no earlier than six months before the course start date. We’ll email you within this timeframe asking you to book an appointment.
