Classroom to Career - Exploring the challenges and triumphs of providing industry informed music technology and production education
We proudly invite teachers and education providers to a very special CPD event focusing on exploring the challenges of delivering industry informed music technology and production education. With particular interest in the educator's experience, we invite presentations from our delegates, and the day is designed to offer plenty of opportunity for discussion and knowledge sharing. The day includes practical workshops on mixing and mastering, with a particular focus on providing resources and insights valuable to educators at all levels of experience.

This event offers an opportunity to learn more about how teachers and music production educators have been approaching and navigating the challenges of working in industry informed ways. In particular, to offer a platform for sharing insights and solutions that could be of particular value to the rest of the community.
We are inviting you to share your experience for 10 minutes on any of the following themes:
- Working with industry directly
- Working with education directly
- Challenges and triumphs of industry informed music production education
- Preparing music for distribution/distributing work
- Understanding industry practices
- Teaching mixing and/or mastering
- Balancing concerns - academic/exam/industry/career/learner priorities
Please send your preferred theme and a brief description of your experience to Eddie Dobson by June 1st, to ensure we have a balance of topics.
Speakers:
Chris Damms is a music industry professional and composition tutor at the University of Huddersfield. He is currently working on his masters, researching partnership experiences between higher education providers and popular music industry partners.
