The Technical Textiles Research Centre consists of an interdisciplinary team, led Professor Parikshit Goswami.  In the video, he talks about the work of the Centre, including a major water purification project with the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata.  Professor Goswami will travel to India this month as part of that work.

Professor Parikshit Goswami, originally from Kolkata, leads the University’s Technical Textiles Research Centre and works closely with organisations in India.  He is travelling to India this month to speak at the Water, Water Purification and Sustainability Workshop in West Bengal, organised by the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata.  Professor Goswami’s role is part of a Royal Society International Collaboration Award and the conference will bring together experts in various fields to consider approaches of ensuring safe drinking water for India’s growing population and a sustainable approach for the future of groundwater and rivers across the country.  Professor Goswami will also give two keynote talks: one as chief guest for the Institution of Engineers (India) and the other to the students at the University of Calcutta’s Department of Jute and Fibre Technology.
