Ramadan and Eid 2025 – Jo Cox More in Common Centre
‘Ramadan Mubarak’ to all colleagues observing the month of Ramadan.
Staff and students from the Muslim faith will be observing the month of Ramadan (a period of fasting and increased worship).
Ramadan 2025 will commence on Saturday 1 March 2025 and will continue for 29/30 days until Sunday 30 March 2025 (subject to sighting of the moon).
In the Muslim calendar, a day begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Muslims will begin observing Ramadan on the sunset of Friday 28 February 2025. After the completion of Ramadan, the day of Eid will be celebrated.
The festival of Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday 30 March 2025/Monday 31 March (subject to sighting of the moon).
