Changes on campus

As part of our commitment to deliver the best possible experience for our students and our staff we have a continual programme of development, refurbishment of our estate. From time-to-time this also includes a need to demolish buildings (anyone who has worked here a long time will remember The Great Hall which stood on the site of the Richard Steinitz Building.

This summer Edith Key, Researcher Hub and George Buckley Lecture Theatre buildings will be demolished, the three buildings are currently not in use so there will be no impact on students or staff as a result of this change. The area will be landscaped to extend our green space and to enhance other recent, award winning, developments in the area, such as the Jo Cox More in Common Centre and the Barbara Hepworth Building. The next phase of the development part of our programme is of course the opening of the new Daphne Steele building in September of this year.
