Important Notice - Staff Laptop Re-Imaging

As you are aware, the university is undertaking re-imaging of university laptops. The purpose of this activity is to ensure that essential security updates are installed and to provide you with an enhanced user experience, including a range of software available to download from the Company Portal with one click.

Thank you to those who have engaged with this process so far.

It is the responsibility of us all to ensure that the university is protected against cyber-attacks, and this essential process will help to protect you and your colleagues from vulnerabilities.

If you have not yet arranged for your laptop to be re-imaged, please do so as soon as possible. Your laptop needs to be re-imaged by July 2023 at the latest.

• Colleagues in Human and Health Sciences, Huddersfield Business School, and Computing & Engineering: Please contact your respective school IT teams promptly to arrange a time for re-imaging.

• Colleagues in all other schools and services: please click here to book a slot for re-imaging.

We understand that some colleagues may face difficulties in bringing their laptops to campus for re-imaging; if this is the case, please contact LaptopRecall@hud.ac.uk to inform them of this as a matter of urgency.

A laptop which has not been re-imaged could be susceptible to data loss, corruption, and security threats. Please note that Computing and Library Services may need to take action to protect the University infrastructure, including disabling university laptops that have not been re-imaged by July 2023.
