Menopause Talk and Support Panel: Smashing the Stigma
Monday 13th March
12:00pm-13:00pm
Hybrid event (attendees can join through Teams)
The McClelland Suite, Floor 7, Schwann Building
A chance to ask questions, share experiences, discuss support mechanisms, and smash the stigma!
This event will be an in-conversation style panel, made up of members of the Staff Wellbeing Menopause Talk and Support Group. It provides an opportunity to share and build on some of the conversations within the group, whilst helping to educate others, and raise awareness of the realities of the menopause.
Although this event is brought to you by members of the Menopause Talk and Support Group, everyone is welcome to attend! The discussion will be helpful to all staff and students, and we encourage the attendance of Line Managers, partners of those who are going through the menopause, or anyone who wishes to learn more about the symptoms and realities of those experiencing it.

Heteronormativity and Gender Binarism
Thursday 16th March
12:00pm-13:00pm
Online Session
Ever wondered why we sometimes feel like we have to act in certain ways? Or why violence against women continues to take place? Or why trans people face discrimination? Or why you may be expected to get married and settle down, even if you might not want to?
This lecture and discussion provides us with some tools to think about gender and sexuality in a critical way. It will help us to understand the social structures that underpin discrimination, and ways in which we can be more open, tolerant, and kind to each other. It is open to you regardless of your own personal sexual or gender identity. All that is required is an enquiring mind and a willingness to value differences and hear other’s insights, within a supportive environment.
