For some young people, there’s a risk of being alone at Christmas while other people are celebrating with family – this can be isolating at an especially difficult time.
In response, partner organisations are working to hold a Christmas lunch so these young people can join together for food and drink, friendship and fun.
Prior to the event, help will be needed wrapping presents and setting up and decorating the venue. On the day, help will be needed with various tasks including welcoming and spending time with our care leavers, supporting activities/entertainment, serving meals and co-ordinating taxis. Help will also be needed with packing up afterwards.
This heart-warming event is taking place in Huddersfield on December 25. We’re asking volunteers to give as much or as little time as they can manage between 11am and 5pm.
