The University of Huddersfield is part of a joint College with Fujian Normal University (FNU) in Fuzhou, China. This college was first set up in September 2018; and we are pleased to announce that our first cohort in Electronics and Communication Engineering (BEng) have just graduated.

The University is now delivering three courses at FNU – Electronics and Communication Engineering (BEng), Electronic Engineering and Computer Systems (BEng) and Computer Science (BSc). Currently, we have over 500 students studying for both FNU and University of Huddersfield degrees, a number that will rise to over a thousand in the next two years as we deliver to twelve cohorts over the three courses.

Fujian Normal University (FNU) is a top 200 institution in China and top 10 amongst normal universities (universities that incorporate teacher training institutions i.e. similar types of institution to Huddersfield).

FNU has two campuses in Fuzhou, with over 20,000 students, including over 4,500 graduate students and over 2,500 staff. The University consists of 28 Schools, which together provide over 50 undergraduate courses, over 120 masters’ courses, around 50 doctoral programs and several post-doctoral research centres.

The majority of senior staff from the University of Huddersfield have visited FNU and reviewed its facilities, and as part of the original validation an institutional visit was conducted by the Registry and the Dean of the Business School.
