Construction work on the new University Multi Faith Centre will begin on Monday 17 January on the grass triangle area between T5, Edith Key building and the Researcher Hub. This much needed new facility will replace the aged, prefab Faith Centre building, just off Queens Street South.
The project is due to complete in late Autumn 2022 and will provide a space for reflection for students and staff from all faiths and backgrounds. It will include a Congregational Hall at the heart of the building and a number of smaller quiet spaces, all designed to meet the WELL standard for human health & wellbeing.
This project also includes an extensive landscaping scheme that will create a fully pedestrianised zone from Joseph Priestley Building, past Brontë Lecture Theatres and the new Faith Centre to Barbara Hepworth Building.
It is expected that this project will deliver a much-improved space for staff and students and will enhance the campus environment. For more details or if you have any concerns about the construction site, please contact Heather Kerrick.
