Jo Cox More in Common Centre opens on Monday 5th December!

The University is delighted to announce that the new Jo Cox More in Common Centre opens on Monday 5^th December.

The new building, replacing the previous Faith Centre at Queens Street South, will be open to students and staff of all faiths and none from 7am-10pm every weekday, and 8am-6pm at weekends. There are prayer rooms for all faiths, quiet spaces to reflect, a shared kitchen social area with hot drink facilities, and various bookable spaces. At heart of the centre, a large Community Hall will host Friday Jumu’ah prayers, as well as being a bookable space for activities at other times. There are also new wudu washing facilities, shoe storage and brothers and sisters' prayer rooms for our Muslim students and staff.

The centre will be on turnstile swipe access, so please have your student or staff ID card ready when you arrive. Whilst the centre will be operational from Monday 5^th December, over the coming weeks staff will be busy putting systems in place for services going forward, therefore please bear with us in the event of any service disruption. A more formal opening ceremony will be announced in due course, to take place in 2023.
