Funding 'get out of the lab' to test and validate commercially promising ideas in the marketplace

ICURe Explore is offering early career researchers up to £35k funding to 'get out of the lab' to test and validate commercially promising ideas in the marketplace. 

Funded by Innovate UK and delivered by SETsquared, the Innovation to Commercialisation of University Research (ICURe) Explore is a 3+ month customer exploration programme designed to train, fund and support research teams from UK universities. It allows researchers to determine if there is a market for products or services that utilise their research, science or technology.

Taking part in ICURe Explore includes:

• support to undertake 3+ months of full-time, intensive market assessment
• funding of up to £35k to validate commercially promising ideas in the marketplace
• a mix of online and in-person 'bootcamps'
• training and interview practice to acquire transferable business skills
• opportunity to have 100+ market conversations with potential customers, funders and stakeholders.

It's open to researchers from all UK universities and Public Sector Research Establishments (PSREs). Applications are now open until 1 February 2023.
