Teams Chat retention policy

Teams Chat allows us to connect with colleagues in a convenient and casual way. With a retention policy due to kick in shortly, please ensure any important information held in Teams Chat is saved in an alternative location.

From 1 July, messages sent via Teams Chat will be available for 365 days. Messages older than this will be permanently deleted in line with the University's retention and disposal schedule. To ensure you don't lose access to key information, please save a copy of your important Chat messages, outside of Teams. (Please note, only applies to messages sent via the ‘Chat‘ tab; channel conversations sent via the ‘Teams‘ tab will be unaffected. See the image below for
