Our foundation year provides you with a tailored start to succeed in your chosen course whilst enjoying all that our triple-TEF Gold University life and our campus community has to offer.
Criminology at our University is ranked among the best in the UK. In the 2025 Times UK University Rankings, our criminology courses were placed 20th nationally and third in Yorkshire.
Our criminology and crime-related courses offer an in-depth exploration of the complex world of crime and the criminal justice system, providing pathways into rewarding careers. These include roles in law enforcement, criminal investigation, prison and probation services, rehabilitative support, analytical and security services, crime prevention, victim and witness assistance, and many more.
Psychology is also a top-rated subject here at Huddersfield, we are ranked 24th out of 116 nationally, and second in Yorkshire in the 2025 Guardian University league tables. Our Psychology courses offer deep insights into human behaviour and will help you to develop valuable practical skills which can be applied to a wide range of careers.
Many of our psychology graduates go on to careers in clinical, educational and forensic psychology, whilst others apply the skills they have learned in a wide range of areas including health care, marketing and public relations, recruitment and human resources.
All our courses are taught by experts in the field, including those with real world work experience and researchers at the cutting edge of knowledge. For all our courses there may be options to study abroad as part of the Turing Scheme.
Our courses offer opportunities to gain practical work experience and insights into the world of work, together with how to work with a diverse range of people and client groups, supporting you to plan and prepare for your chosen career.
