The School of Arts and Humanities and the Centre for Cultural Ecologies in Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Huddersfield are thrilled to announce the closing exhibition of the Cultures of Creative Health programme, taking place at Sovereign Design Galleries and Barbara Hepworth Building on campus.
This exhibition celebrates the culmination of a year-long initiative exploring the role of arts and humanities in creative health.
Over the past 12 months, Cultures of Creative Health has connected artists, researchers, health professionals and communities to explore how creative practices can positively impact health outcomes.
The exhibition will showcase a wide variety of collaborative projects that address local and regional needs and foster community resilience through art and creative approaches to health and wellbeing.
Place-Based Development: The Cultures of Creative Health programme has embedded itself in the West Yorkshire region by working with local communities to explore the ways in which creativity can be harnessed to address health and wellbeing challenges within the area. The exhibition is a direct reflection of the region’s conditions and aspirations.

This exhibition also celebrates the creation of the Creative Health Hub for West Yorkshire, a new initiative that promotes the use of creative approaches to health across the region. This work aligns to the West Yorkshire Creative Health System; a collaboration between Mayor Tracy Brabin and the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership Board.
