Law students attend Houses of Parliament to receive gold award for fundraising achievements.

A group of law students have been participating in the Law School Challenge, a national competition where law schools from across the country compete to raise the most money for charities LawWorks and Advocate. Both charities provide support, advice, and representation to those who can’t access or do not qualify for legal aid.

Students worked with local solicitors to organise charity quizzes, raffles, and bake sales, as well as organising a world cup sweepstake and designing a collection of hoodies to raise as much money as possible for the charities.

To celebrate their achievements, four students along with Senior Lecturer in Law, Natalie Prowse, who has supported the students throughout their fundraising activities, were invited to attend an awards ceremony at the Houses of Parliament in London. Our law students finished third nationally, just behind the University of Law Bloomsbury and the University of Sunderland, becoming one of only three law schools in the country to win the coveted gold award for raising over £2,000. Overall, Huddersfield Business School’s law students raised a total of £2,056.

“It's great to see our law students win the gold award for the second time round, having previously won in 2018. A huge thank you to all our partners who have supported the students on this journey".
