Huddersfield on rise in world university rankings
The University of Huddersfield’s reputation with employers and among academics around the world has seen it make significant progress in the latest QS University Rankings.
Over the last two years, the University has risen up the rankings of 1,500 global institutions surveyed by around 150 places and is now 567th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings.
This places Huddersfield in the top two per cent of all global universities. Earlier in 2023, Huddersfield was named as one of the world’s top universities across nine different subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
And Huddersfield is the leading university in the country for the proportion of teaching staff holding teaching qualifications at 94 per cent from the HESA figures released this year.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Thornton said, “These QS rankings reflect our burgeoning reputation and show well we have recovered following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our good performance in the recently-added category of International Research Networks shows how we are becoming a destination for researchers from around the world. We also pride ourselves on how our graduates are prepared for the completion of their studies, and our performance in the Employer Reputation category is an indication of our success in this field.”
