Our Logistics team has been co-operating with the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport for 20 years. Colin Bamford, Nick Hubbard and Nicoleta Tipi have supervised PhD students who are now Deans and Heads of Department in some cases. HBS has also received Top Up Bachelor and Master students on a number of programmes. AAST is sponsored by the Arab League but has most of its 10 campuses are in Egypt.
Professor John Anchor, Associate Dean (International) says: “Nicoleta Tipi and I met with the Dean of the College of International Transport and Logistics and his team at the Cairo campus. The Dean is a Huddersfield Bachelor graduate and was one of Nicoleta’s PhD students. We have agreed to renew our MoU. I hope that the relationship can be developed in new ways. 45 per cent of Egypt’s population of 105 million is below the age of 25 – so there are many opportunities”.
