About the speaker:Rohma Ullah has been working at the National FGM Centre since 2015. With a background in human rights, in particular refugees and human trafficking, Rohma has worked nationally at the Centre as a specialist in direct work with children affected by harmful practices, and now works as the national lead for training and professional development.

The National FGM Centre, a partnership between Barnardo’s and the Local Government Association, aims to end new cases of harmful practices including Female Genital Mutilation, Breast Flattening and Child Abuse Linked to Faith or Belief through specialist social work intervention, as well as through community engagement and professional development including training. 

Seminar outline: The interactive presentation will focus on harmful practices including Female Genital Mutilation, Breast Flattening and Child Abuse Linked to Faith or Belief. It will explore each practice, and allow delegates to understand why they happen, where they happen, and the extent to which they are known to happen, both globally and within the UK context.
