Richard Steinitz Building Renaming

On 1 December the building which is home to our Music department will be renamed the Richard Steinitz Building in honour of Emeritus Professor Richard Steinitz.

The event will commence at 4.30pm with light refreshments, and will include a short concert led by renowned pianist Philip Thomas and featuring two of the University’s post-graduate violinists. Their programme will include two of Ligeti’s Piano Études, selected violin Duetti by Berio, and music by James Dillon and Bryn Harrison (Reader at the University) both of whom had their careers launched and subsequently nurtured by Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival during its 40 year history, and who have in turn contributed richly to its programmes.
