The University’s Chancellor’s Prize is awarded to a select number of students who achieved the best results from each academic school of study

“YOU are the best.  So, go out there and show the world what you can do,” said the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, Professor Christine Jarvis, to the students receiving the highest graduation award, the Chancellor’s Prize.

Chancellor’s Prizes are awarded to the students from each of the University’s academic schools who have achieved the best results in their final year. 

The awards were made to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the presence of their close family and friends.

The award-winners at the November 2018 ceremonies were (in alphabetical order):

Undergraduate recipients:

  • Aelly Bernadette Armitage – BA(Hons) Learning Support
  • Angeliki Chalasti – BEng(Hons) Chemical Engineering
  • James English – BEng(Hons) Mechanical Engineering
  • Andrada-Maria Horotan-Mare – BA(Hons) Architecture (International)
  • Jonathan Simpson – BA(Hons) – Business Management
  • Samantha Joan Wood – BSc(Hons) – Nursing (Adult)

Postgraduate recipients:

  • Amie Louise Bain – MA Higher Education
  • Lathika Sujani Hathurusinghe – MSc Forensic Science (Forensic Toxicology)
  • Caroline Hodgson – MA Fashion Textile Practices
  • Ali Iqbal – MSc Engineering Control Systems and Instrumentation
  • Annie Rose Marsland MSc Investigative Psychology
  • Lilian Soon – MSc Technology Enhanced Learning
  • Victoria Louise Stewart – MSc Management

At the presentation, Professor Jarvis spoke of the prizes as being a special mark of distinction that is awarded to the students who have achieved the very best results across the University.

“Our Chancellor’s Prize winners are a remarkable group who are the top achievers from across our academic schools.  All of the winners should be immensely proud, as we are of them,” she added.

After the presentation ceremony, Professor Jarvis met each of the winners individually and discussed their courses and plans for the future.
