The University of Huddersfield has organised a variety of events, displays and Fairtrade product offers on campus to help you come on in to Fairtrade. Don’t miss the big finale event on Friday 9 March.

The activities take place from Monday 26 February to Sunday 11 March as part of the nationwide Fairtrade Fortnight campaign.

What is Fairtrade?

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers. Fairtrade helps farmers put food on the table and send their children to school. They can invest in better farming and earn more from their crops. Communities can pay for clean water, hospitals and medicine.

Did you know?

Millions of farmers around the world aren’t paid what they deserve.  As a result, their children go hungry and many can’t afford to go to school. Families have limited or no access to clean water and can’t afford to pay for a doctor when they’re sick. Things we take for granted – clean water, free healthcare, electricity, are just a dream. Find out more about the campaign at the Fairtrade website.
