Introduction
The Intervention for Success Project was an Office for Students, Catalyst funded collaboration between the Universities of Huddersfield, Coventry, Lincoln and Manchester Metropolitan, that ran from April 2017 until June 2019. Its aim was to address differential achievement, recognising from both national and local data, that the students with the most to gain from curriculum change include commuter students, those who come to use with vocational qualifications or low UCAS tariff points and students from BAME backgrounds. Each institution developed an intervention to better serve these students, centred around how we welcome them to University in their first few weeks of study, how we tutor them throughout their time with us and how we support them whilst out on placement. The full report for this project can be found on the OfS Knowledge Exchange website (link to be provided). Below are the resources we produced. They are free to all other educational institutions to use and repurpose. We’d be really grateful if you let us know how you use them and their impact as it will help us in our ongoing work to find answers to inequality in education and to allow every student to reach their full potential, regardless of background (email: success@hud.ac.uk)
