Our University Campus

Research facilities alongside green spaces, places to eat and a gym. We’ve invested nearly £156 million in campus development, and have fantastic facilities including specialist laboratories, studios, and performance spaces. One of our most recent initiatives includes the opening of our impressive Daphne Steele Building, as part of the National Health Innovation Campus

We have a working canal that runs through the heart of our campus which boasts a tree-lined towpath, perfect for those downtime moments. Take a look round our campus, using our Virtual Campus Tour

Staff can access fitness classes and gym facilities on campus and at KAL Fitness Centres across the district.  These provide 7 day a week access to gym, class and swim facilities to suit your working patterns on campus and at home.

Outdoor Facilities

Our campus has a selection of green outdoor spaces, including a working canal that runs through the heart of our campus with a tree-lined towpath.

Our Campus Support and Grounds Maintenance team plan, design and tend to these areas over the various seasons of the year, so the areas are always visually interesting, contain native, insect attracting plants and are biodiverse. The University also has gardening spaces on campus available for use to all staff and students. These gardens consist of:

  • Allotment spaces with individual planters
  • An orchard
  • An edible fruit garden
  • The Kitchen Herb Garden
